Lea Judo Club is a not for profit judo club that trains at Lea Village Hall
SN16 9PB on Friday evenings. A session is held at 5.45 pm to 7.30 pm. for younger members and the older members train from 7.30 pm. to 9.15 pm. Lea Judo Club is run by Mike Allaway with the support of Mike Satchell. The club is a member of The British Judo Council.
The club competes at a National and International Level and members of the Club have won medals at the Welsh Nationals and the British Judo Council Nationals.
The club welcomes new members from all backgrounds and hopes to make judo as much fun as possible.

In a tough competition - the club came away with 2 GOLD, 1 SILVER and 2 BRONZE medals. Ellen Holder, became the Welsh Champion 3rd year running with no fights going the distance. Paige Davy against a very tough opponent managed a hold down at the end of the fight taking GOLD. Casey Chard came away with silver and Alexander Holder and Findlay Marten both won bronze. A great fight was had by Oscar Barratt who was unlucky not to come home with a medal. Charlie Prater also put up a good fight against some strong competition.
Oscar Barratt and Ellen Holder represented Lea Judo Club and came away with top honours. Winning a total of 7 fights with no losses Oscar and Ellen came away with two Gold Medals. Oscar was pleased to win his first GOLD, following his great performance at the Nationals.
This is the greatest success so far this year. At team of 7 travelled up to Kettering to compete in one of the major tournaments of the year and came away with an array of medals. Findlay Marten stormed away taking GOLD to improve on his silver at Leicester. This great success was followed with a SILVER from Ellen Holder who just lost out on gold on points. Freddie Robb put in a very strong performance to take SILVER in a very tough field. Alexander Holder weighed in at 30.05 kilos and fought in the U34 kilos class and against a strong field took BRONZE. Paige battled it out taking BRONZE and came away with her arm in a sling! Both Casey Chard and Oscar Barratt put in very strong performances and will definitely be winning more medals this year. Well done to the team!
Another great success at this major judo competition. Lea Judo Club took a team of 9 to this tought competition. In the Primary event Chloe Witt fought brilliantly to take SILVER. Findlay Marten also performed well against tough competition to take SILVER. Alexander Holder in a tough class came away with 5 fight wins in a row to take GOLD. Oscar Barratt continues to improve in every competition and will be hard to beat in the future.
In the U16 Junior Event, Ellen Holder despite being only 11 came home with GOLD. Paige Davy continues to add to her medal tally winning BRONZE against a class field. Casey Chard against very tough competition also came home with a BRONZE. Both Louis Hawtin and William Holder both fought well against tough competition. Once again what a brilliant result by the team.
11 fighters and 11 medals. Lea Club sent it's largest team to date to fight in Southampton. In the primary event Chloe Witt started the day brilliantly taking GOLD. This success was followed by Alexander Holder who took GOLD with Oscar Barratt taking BRONZE in the same weight category. Findlay Martin followed his success in the Southfields competition also taking BRONZE. Charlie Prater in his first competition fought bravely to take a well deserved BRONZE. Izzy Summersell also in her first ever competiton was asked to fight in the U16 junior category despite being only a primary. Izzy stepped up to the challenge and fought brilliantly and was awarded a GOLD in the primary category. These two fighters are one's to watch in the future! Louis Hawtin continues to improve and won a well deserved BRONZE. In the U16 Junior category Casey George and George W ended up fighting each other with Casey taking GOLD and George taking silver. Ellen Holder although only 11 fought in the U16 junior category taking a well-deserved SILVER fighting against a 14 year green belt. Paige Davy continues to add to her medal tally this year by taking GOLD.
Once again success for Lea Judo Club. A strong team was sent from the club to fight in this tough event in the Midlands. Ellen Holder came home with Gold with her brother William storming through the competition with 4 very quick fights and a Gold Medal. Paige Davy added to her trophy cabinet with two impressive wins taking silver. Findlay Martin in his first ever fight came home with a well deserved bronze. George W in a tough group also came home with a bronze medal. Oscar Barratt fought very well in his first competition and is a good prospect for medals in the future. Louis Hawtin also fought well going the distance in one of his fights. Casey Chard fought very well and even managed to break out of a strong ground hold after 19 seconds. Mat Rake fought well in the Senior event winning a bronze.

SQUAD WIN 6 MEDALS AT CHALFONT CHAMPIONSHIP JANUARY 2013
The Lea Judo Squad fought at the Chalfont & Evreham Championships 2013 on 26th January.
Ellen Holder and Freddie Robb both came away with GOLD, with Paige Davy, Chloe Witt and Alexander Holder winning SILVER and Casey Chard winning bronze. This was a great performance with Chloe and Casey winning medals in their first ever competition.

SUCCESS AT BJC CLOSED NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS DECEMBER 2012
What a great performance at the BJC closed nationals in Hereford. Alexander Holder wins SILVER u30kg with Ellen Holder becoming the National Champion u44kg.
Another great success at the Welsh Nationals in Hereford. Paige Davy wins SILVER in the <56kg, 14/15 class, Freddie Robb wins SILVER in the <37kg 12/13 class and Ellen Holder becomes the Welsh National Champion for the second year running in the <44kg 10/11 class.
